(More customer reviews)ISBN 0312134983 - There are plenty of books like this out there. They're almost more "really thick greeting card" than book, full of cute quotes. Fans of those books will probably enjoy this one - I'm just not one of them.
Each pages features 3 or 4 quotes that the author presents at "typical Mom-quotes". Few have any attribution, which I assume is because they're considered so common that EVERY mother has said them. The quotes are broken up into chapters by topic.
The reason I don't particularly like this book is simple - there's not a single thing in here that I ever heard from my mother. A huge book reader, she wouldn't have liked this one at all, either... which is probably another reason I don't like it. The relatively few quotes that are attributed to a specific person are interesting, if for no other reason than that I've put all the names into a search engine and have come to the conclusion that most of these women are "nobodies". That's either a good thing, if you like the idea of quotes from "average women", or a bad thing, if you're really not all that interested in quotes from "nobodies".
This isn't a terrible book, it's just as average as it can possibly be. It's a gift card with a dustjacket. It would make a nice gift, for some folks. I just don't like it much.
