The book puts the story of how those choices were made during WW2 - the choices of the war brides and their GI husbands - into the perspective of how mass media reflected socity's view on war brides as well possibly influenced the decisions of both males and females during that time. The detailed study of both UK and US magazines and newspapers' coverage of war brides is very interesting and sometimes surprising. However, some of the material may seem a bit basic to you if you have read many books about war brides. But even if you have, this one may add a different perspective and more insight into the framework around the individuals' decisions.
